USDA Online Scholarship Application System Goes Live

WASHINGTON, DC – The United States Department of Agriculture launched its new online scholarship application at www.usdascholarships.com. The site is powered by eResources innovative Online Application Management System (OAMS). The OAMS allows graduate and undergraduate students to quickly submit applications for scholarships and paid internships with the USDA. Applicants are first required to create a user profile, registering their contact information in USDA’s online database. The students are then guided through the online scholarship process, entering all of the required information into the system. Students are provided with a number of automated email communications, keep them updated on the status of their application and warning them about impending deadlines. Using the OAMS, USDA staff can update content on their site and administer all facets of their scholarship process. This paperless system will dramatically improve organizational efficiency, cutting staff work time and printing costs. USDA may access their scholarship manager through a secure, browser-based interface. This allows the staff to view all applicant profiles, view full application, and manage scholarship sessions. In addition, USDA can track their web statistics and create customized reports using web analytics tools.
