Online Applications Made Easy

December 1, 2002

BETHESDA, MD – Dusty Gulleson, CEO of eResources, recently spoke at the NAFSA’s 2002 regional conference.  Mr. Gulleson participated on a panel during the workshop, "Study Abroad Administration: Revolutionizing Information Management Through On-line Databases."

“We were proud to be recognized for our achievements with our Online Application Systems (OAS),” said Mr. Gulleson, who was selected to discuss the online application eResources created for BestSemester.com, the portal for CCCU’s off-campus study programs.  eResources OAS transformed CCCU’s student programs, which accepts over 500 students annually, into a virtually paperless process.

The online application was created to streamline the process, increase the number and quality of applications, and allow for efficient transfer of information to program directors around the world.  Gulleson noted, “Our solutions have enabled organizations like BestSemester.com to decrease labor and management costs.”  Kimberely Spragg, Director for the CCCU student programs, commented on the new system.  “eResources custom built for us an incredibly affordable system that will reduce the cost of managing the program dramatically while increasing our efficiency and enrollment. From all the online management systems and application tools I’ve seen we definitely have the best product among them.  The application is intuitive and well designed."  The application is hosted online and requires no software to be installed on local computers.  Program administrators and students can access the system online from anywhere in the world where they have access to the Internet.

University and association administrators from Washington, D.C., Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia attended the four-day meeting, held in Bethesda, MD.  The theme of the conference was International Education: Risks and Rewards, highlighting the challenges posed by the September 11 terrorist attacks.  Serving a membership of more than 8,000 individuals in all 50 states and 80 countries, NAFSA promotes the exchange of students and scholars to and from the United States.
