Non-Profit Launches Online Fellowship Application

November 7, 2005
Washington, DC The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) recently introduced their new online fellowship application.  Using eResources Application Management System, AAAS can now administer their entire fellowship process online, without the burdens of paper-based applications. The application extranet, located online at fellowshipapp.aaas.org, allows potential applicants to review all relevant instructions on eligibility, guidelines, and other frequently asked questions.  The user will then create a profile that saves the information in the AAAS database.  Applicants can then complete the online process, entering in all required fields for review.  The application process also allows for uploading documents such as transcripts.  The applicants also receive email notifications to update them on their status or warn them if a deadline is approaching. Using the Reviewer Extranet, AAAS staff may review all of their fellowship applications online.  The fellowship process required a customized workflow to accommodate the intricate methods for reviewing candidates.  With all applications materials stored in a centralized online location, AAAS has experienced significant time and cost savings.    eResources also developed a Reference Extranet, which allows AAAS to easily collect all application references in their online system.  Applicants need only enter in the email address of the references, who will receive an email prompting them to access the extranet.  They are provided with a password and can securely submit a reference, which is immediately tied to applicant’s profile on the administrative side.     To schedule a meeting or receive information about eResources products and services, please call (202) 216-0124 or e-mail at info@eresources.comAbout the American Association for the Advancement of Science The American Association for the Advancement of Science is an international non-profit organization dedicated to advancing science around the world by serving as an educator, leader, spokesperson and professional association.
