The Hispanic College Fund recently launched its new online scholarship application at www.hispanicfund.org. The new system will allow the entire application process to be administered online. eResources developed this custom solution using the robust Online Application Management System (OAMS). eResources CEO Dusty Gulleson noted, “It was a pleasure to work with HCF President Fern Barrueta and his staff. The customized OAMS will create significant savings for HCF in terms of resources and overhead costs. The user-friendly system has empirically increased both the quality and quantity of applicants, and we are confident that HCF will experience the same success. We look forward to continuing this partnership with HCF, serving their future technology needs.” The OAMS allows students to register and create a unique profile with HCF. Once they have logged in, the student can read about the various scholarship opportunities from partners like M&T Bank, Sallie Mae, and Lockheed Martin. A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section is available to help guide students through the process. The OAMS is a hosted solution and requires no software installation on local computers. Program administrators and students can access the system online 24x7, anywhere they have an Internet connection. This paperless system creates substantial costs savings and frees administrators from tedious processing. All student application information is captured and saved in a customized database. HCF staff can set different levels of administrative access and create a workflow to process the applications. Even the applicants will reap time savings from the OAMS. Student who are eligible to apply for more than scholarship can transfer duplicative information to each application, rather than filling out the same fields multiple times. Applications which are not properly filled out are not accepted. Students can also receive automated email alerts about approaching deadlines, and check the status of their application online.
