Profile
CCCU is a higher education association of international Christian colleges and universities. Founded in 1976, the Council has expanded to 103 members in North America and 58 affiliate institutions in 21 countries. CCCU sponsors nearly 100 programs to provide students and faculty with the resources necessary to fulfill the Council’s mission of enriching scholastic achievement through Christian faith.
Challenge
As the preeminent association for Christian higher education, CCCU required an online presence that would provide the necessary resources for its diverse membership. CCCU needed a solution that would allow them to efficiently manage their content without having to rely on outside assistance to make constant updates. In particular, their membership directory was stagnant and contained a great deal of outdated information.
Solution
With these problems in mind, the eResources team wanted to build CCCU a highly navigable web site with an engaging look. Using the eResources Content Management System (eRCMS), eResources created a robust and scalable web site, designed to provide CCCU’s staff with control of the site’s content and features.
To address the outdated membership directory, eResources developed a Member Extranet that allows users to login to a password-protected interface. Using this integrated database, members can securely update their profile and access information in the membership directory. The new directory has facilitated more frequent and effective communication between members. In addition to the membership management tool, eResources created a number of other applications for CCCU, including a resource and career center, a content-driven rotating banner system, and a conference manager.
CCCU has cut costs and maintains their entire site using in-house resources. Their 300-page website has rapidly expanded to 3,000 pages, and the Council has watched as site traffic has increased by nearly 200% to 70,000 unique visitors a month.
“Before we acquired eResources Content Management System, making changes to our site was an extensive ordeal. Now the hassle associated with keeping content fresh and dynamic has been eliminated. Today our entire staff can create and post content, instead of relying on one or two programmers to update the web site.”
