WASHINGTON, DC - Today, The Ethics and Public Policy Center (EPPC) launched its newly redesigned web site, www.EPPC.org. The feature-rich site was built using the latest generation of the eResources Content Management System (eRCMS). The eRCMS is a fully customized, web-based solution that allows EPPC staff to manage all of their online content. The database-driven site requires no knowledge of HTML, and real time updates can be made from any browser. The eRCMS system includes multiple permission levels with a publishing approval process, creating a built-in workflow for EPPC staff. eResources CEO Dusty Gulleson noted, "The new web site completes a major technological overhaul at EPPC. We started first by revamping all of the internal network, computers, and software. The second phase was overhauling eppc.org interface, structure, and integrating it with eResources Content Management System. With the new web site EPPC is positioned more effectively online and will be able to disseminate content more effectively." EPPC President Hillel Fradkin commented that, "It’s been a pleasure working with eResources. Since last year eResources has worked along side us as partner to totally overhaul our IT needs. This relationship has been very successful." The new site features many of eResources latest modules including the eResources Personalization Module. eResources tailored the module to create a ‘My EPPC’ feature. Visitors to the site will be able to register, create a personal profile, and monitor issues of interest. These ‘watches’ can include any EPPC programs, publication, or a particular scholar. ‘My EPPC’ will allow the organization to "push content" to their users, sending them email notification when new content is published. The site features EPPC publications, news, and content through the Press Room and Publications Modules. The site allows content to be published in multiple areas on the site with a click of the button. Users will be able to peruse data easily through the intuitive navigational system and powerful search tool. Scholars mentioned in bylines of publications are linked to their profiles in the its Virtual Scholar module. This part of the web site will highlight the work of EPPC’s renowned Fellows and Scholars. Each scholar page provides a short biography, high-resolution photo, research areas, and contact information. Links are provided to articles and books written by that scholar, as well as to events they will attend. Online registration is now available for events at EPPC through the eResources Event Manager. Visitors can access all of the necessary information, including the agenda, featured speakers, and post-conference resources. Registered users can now sign up for events, make payments, and receive confirmation online. In addition to processing event fees online users can donate to the center or purchase books online. The Donation Module allows supporters of EPPC to now make secure, online contributions to support EPPC work. Users can designate a certain program the donation will assist, specify a payment method, and print a receipt. Center books and publications for sale can be purchased using a credit card online as well. The other noticeable change is the new graphic design and color scheme for the EPPC site. This new look and feel will further develop EPPC’s online identity. The new interface will make it easier for users to navigate through the web site and access information. And as the EPPC site grows, the site will maintain a consistent, uniform look.
